Who we are

Welcome to Grace Within The Margins—a community rooted in faith, healing, and the unshakable belief that God meets us exactly where we are. Founded by Alexis Simon, a devoted wife, mother, and follower of Christ, our mission is to create space for real stories, real people, and the real, redemptive grace of God.

I grew up in North Florida in a typical lower-middle-class family. We went to church on holidays, said grace at dinner, and lived what you might call a “normal” life. But as I entered my preteen and teenage years, life took unexpected turns. My faith was tested, my identity was questioned, and I found myself wandering far from God. It wasn’t until years later—through struggle, reflection, and divine intervention—that I truly came to understand the meaning of grace.

It’s that understanding that birthed Grace Within The Margins. This isn’t just my story—it’s a space for everyone who has ever felt like they weren’t "enough" by the world’s standards, but knew deep down that God had more for them. Here, we share personal testimonies and amplify voices from the margins—stories of redemption, resilience, mental health advocacy, and community transformation. We shine a spotlight on local organizations that support mental health, suicide prevention, and community outreach. We also provide resources, promote local awareness walks, and offer ways for you to get involved in causes that matter.

Above all, we exist to reflect the love and truth of Jesus Christ. One of the scriptures that defines this mission is Ephesians 2:8, which says:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
— Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)

This verse is a cornerstone of everything we do. Grace is not earned. It’s not bought. It’s not reserved for the perfect. It is a gift—freely given by a loving God who sees us, knows us, and still calls us His own. That’s the beauty of grace. It covers what we lack, fills the broken places, and restores what was lost.

At Grace Within The Margins, we believe that no one is too far gone, too broken, or too unseen to be embraced by God’s love. Whether you’re in the middle of your healing, just beginning your faith journey, or standing strong in your walk with Christ, this is a place for you.

So come as you are. Stay a while. Read the stories. Join a cause. Share your heart. Let’s walk this journey together—wrapped in grace, fueled by purpose, and grounded in the unchanging truth of God’s word.

You are not alone. You are seen. You are loved. And there is grace for you here.

Founder of “Grace Within The Margins”:

Alexis Simon

My name is Alexis Simon, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that grace has a way of finding us — even when we least deserve it and especially when we don’t see it coming. My story isn’t one of perfect faith or an unshakable walk with God. It’s one of wandering, wrestling, and being found again by His love.

I grew up in North Florida in a small, ordinary family. Faith was something we acknowledged, but it didn’t always feel personal to me. As I got older, life got messy — questions I didn’t have answers for, pain I didn’t know how to carry, and moments that made me wonder if God still saw me at all. But looking back now, I see that even in my distance, His grace never left. It waited patiently for me to return.

Over time, that realization changed the way I viewed everything — my identity, my purpose, and how I see others who feel unseen. I began to notice that some of the most powerful stories of faith don’t come from the center of attention, but from the margins — from the quiet places where people are simply trying to hold on to hope.

That’s where Grace Within The Margins began: not as a project or a plan, but as a personal reminder that God writes beautiful stories in imperfect lives. My heart is to walk alongside others who are still finding their way, offering encouragement, connection, and truth along the journey.

Today, I carry that same message wherever I go — through storytelling, community outreach, and conversations that point back to the heart of Jesus. My prayer is that anyone who crosses paths with Grace Within The Margins feels what I once needed most: the assurance that they are seen, loved, and never too far gone for grace to reach them.
